I Taste the Future

Mondo Books

In the storefront of Trevarefabrikken, the artist-run initiative Mondo Books will present a bookshop and site-specific installation titled Islands Of The Sun (2017). The selection of books and printed matter is organized as a fictional infrastructure, connecting islands, swamps and shifting seaboards and geographies to open critical perspectives on ecologies in flux, both locally and globally. During LIAF, Mondo Books will host a series of readings exploring speculative futures by writers such as Sigbjørn Skåden, who will discuss Indigenous futurism. Responding to LIAF’s curatorial concept, Mondo artists Tanya Busse, Linn Horntvedt, Miriam Haile, Nicolas Siepen and Joar Nango have selected sci-fi stories and other publications that question what is to be governed when borders melt and futures are uncertain.
